Lecture today, noticed a smudge on the elevator mirror today that I hadn't noticed before. Strangely i still find the whole concept of Semiotics confusing even after the lecture on it. From what I seem to understand from it semiotics to me just means hidden or meaningful things which can be assessed if you pay close attention to pictures or paintings or any sort of media really.

From what we were told the objects in the background have a hidden meaning or a meaning of status about the person within the picture, however i cannot figure out what they symbolise as of yet.
